About Somms in da hood
Founder: John Chan
John is a local born sommelier with a rich experience in numerous fine dining scenes and wine importer; Including Kahala Mandarin Oriental in Oahu, Hawaii, The Peninsula HK, SPOON by Alain Ducasse Hong Kong, Cepage by Les Amis, The Landmark Mandarin Oriental and Madison Wines. Through his work journey, he gained a fruitful reputation of one of the leading sommeliers not only in Hong Kong but in Asia. He was crowned the Best Sommelier 2006 by Hong Kong Sommelier Association when he was an assistant sommelier at SPOON by Alain Ducasse. Ten years after, he was awarded as the Best Sommelier 2016 by Hong Kong Tatler Magazine when he was the Head Sommelier at Amber by Richard Ekkebus. Again in 2019, a German gourmet magazine Sternefresser selected John as the Best Sommelier Worldwide 2019 when he was at Amber as Director of Wine.
John career goal is to share his knowledge and experience in order to have diners and wine drinkers achieve a more complete enjoyment with wines.

Professional Cellar Storage
Outstanding Quality
All wines are well stored at a professional temperature and humidity controlled cellar. This is to guarantee the best condition of each bottle delivered to our clients. Wines are well kept at our cellar until the last minute before delivery. And to follow John's work ethic, delivery service offers from Monday to Sunday in order to fit the different delivery service requirement for restaurants, club houses, hotels and private clients.

It is illegal to sell alcohol to people under the age of 18. By placing an order, the Customer confirms that he/she is 18 years old or above. The Customer shall ensure that no person shall use his/her login to purchase alcohol products and a person aged 18 or above (identification required) must be present to take delivery or delivery shall be withdrawn and attempted at another time agreed.
All items are sold under direct sales trading term, non-returnable and non-refundable. Although we strive to offer wines in their best condition, the Customer must make appropriate allowances for natural variations of conditions of cases, labels and corks for old wines.
The availability and prices are subject to final confirmation.
Free delivery is offered to one delivery address in Hong Kong Island and Kowloon for orders over HKD 1800.
Free delivery is offered to one delivery address in New Territories for orders over HKD 2000.
All orders required pre payment to confirm orders; confirmed order will be delivered in 2-3 working days.
